Crosby And Nash To Play Waterfront

Legends of 70s folk rock Crosby and Nash, will play Belfast's Waterfront theatre on Wednesday 28 September.

Half of the seminal quartet, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, the first and third member performed and recorded regularly as a duo during the 1970s.

The two are now on a short tour taking in nine UK dates and an Irish appearance.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers; former members of The Byrds, the Hollies, and a host of impressive other bands; and noted influences to Dylan, the Beatles and even the grunge era, Crosby and Nash are part of an indomitable legacy.


In addition to the form definition entertainment era, such as their appearance Woodstock, Crosby and Nash are a fundamental note in the history of popular music.

Tickets for Crosby and Nash are available online from the waterfront and the Ulster Hall offices and supervised by calling 028 9033 4455. There is a waterfront credit / debit card handling fee card £ 1 per ticket for bookings made by telephone. A fee of 50p per booking is payable for tickets mailed. Online bookings attract a charge of only £ 1.50 per transaction.

I've just been watching a BBC Four documentary about music in Los Angeles in the early seventies. There's something odd about the way I find some of these songs particularly evocative of the period. Odd because, although I did listen to them, a long time ago, this would have been a few years after their release. If I remember right I would probably have been hitting my own "Me Decade" round about the time the Sex Pistols were making front page news. To be honest these are artists I tend to airbrush out of my history in certain company. I used to own a lot of this music but much was culled from my record collection in the anti-singer-songwriter purge of, I don't know, probably 1986 or thereabouts when I'd decided to adopt some kind of post-punk/indie affectation. (In latter years I've come to terms with my predilection at various points in history for massively unfashionable music.
