Life Coach to Speak on Perils of Bullying
For many adolescents today, one of the biggest issues they may face is bullying. Whether it is bullying in schools, at home or online, few children are immune.
The Howell Public Library will hold a program today called “Bullying is not Just about the Children.” Rob Imperato, a certified life empowerment coach and director of Self Empowerment Coaching, will offer the presentation.
During this event at the library, which will be held at 7 p.m., Imperato will discuss how parents can help children deal with bullying in their lives. The presentation will also help adults understand social challenges for children that they encounter in their everyday life.
Along with teaching adults how to help their children deal with bullying, he will explain to all attendees who is involved within bullying, why people bully and the effects of bullying later in life.
One added part of this presentation is that Imperato will tell attendees how not just children, but adults can be bullied as well in home and in the workplace, and he will offer various tools for adults to use as a way to quell any forms of bullying.
Looking at workplace bullying, Imperato notes there are many issues within the office space, including shouting or swearing at other employees, singling out an employee for criticism or excluding one employee from activities or ignoring their work as a whole.
“Through self-empowerment, we realize that the true power to gain clarity, build confidence and take control lies within each of us,” Imperato said.
