JPMorgan Chase hiring 200 in Tampa Bay in the next month
JPMorgan Chase aims to hire more than 200 employees in the Tampa Bay area over the next month as it ramps up its Florida expansion.
The jobs are predominantly in bank branches and auto lending, the New York megabank said Wednesday.
• More than 30 auto loan collectors will be hired at two job fairs July 26 and Aug. 4 at 4900 Memorial Highway (the Fountain Square 3 complex) in Tampa. Both fairs run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply online at chase.com/careers. Despite having a name with household recognition and a massive credit card network, JPMorgan Chase was slow to expand into Florida until it acquired Washington Mutual in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. The merger gave it more than 200 locations throughout the state, a launching pad to become a major competitor in Florida banking.
The bank has said it will invest more than $100 million in new Florida branches. It intends to open 37 more branches statewide this year. Included in the ramp-up are 12 branches in central-west Florida — specifically Pinellas, Hillsborough and Sarasota counties — along with 16 branches in southeast Florida, six branches in southwest Florida, and three branches in Central Florida.
Currently, Chase has more than 600 jobs available statewide.
