With 15 million registered players, League of Legends can now be seen as the champion of the arena multiplayer online genre. However, S2 Games is attempting to maintain control and reach new audiences with the announcement today that Heroes of Newerth is now free to play. There are now three types acount:
Basic - Standard, players will receive new free account at registration.Verified - The basic accounts that have been improved through a demonstration of their commitment to their account, either by inheritance or purchase parts Goblin over a certain threshold of playing time -. User accounts that existed prior to paying the free-to-play model. These accounts are a lifetime of free access to all the heroes and HON are able to play in Verified Only games to ensure that experts and beginners are separated. Legacy accounts can not be purchased.This last point deserves some attention added.Checked and legacy users will be able to queue in matchmaking of Verified Only games in an attempt to keep the beginners basic separated by advanced players.
Basic accounts will have access to Verified and a rotation of 15 heroes for free, while the Legacy accounts have free access to all permanent hero, after a short waiting period. Basic accounts and Verified can choose to buy a new hero in the liberation, which definitely adds to their pool of personal heroes.Legacy of Auditors may choose to purchase early access to the hero at that time before it is released for free.
