, The Glenburn Township 7th Annual Art Show and Sale will be on display at the Glenburn Township Building at 54 Waterford Road, Dalton on Oct. 2, through Dec. 8. The show may be viewed during regular office hours from 9 a.m. to noon or by appointment. The opening reception will be held Oct. 2 from 3 to 5 p.m. Cost: Admission is free and light refreshments will be served. Original artwork by many local artists will be available for sale.The theme for this year’s show is “The Creative Spirit.” There will be a variety of works in many media including watercolor, oil, pastel, acrylic, pencil and mixed media. Photography will also be accepted. There will be a“People’s Choice” award. This project is supported by a Lackawanna County Arts and Culture Municipality Grant, a program of the Lackawanna County Commissioners and the Lackawanna County Council on the arts. Adults needed to serve as volunteer leaders of 4-H clubs (five or more members, ages 8-19). Policies and procedures to ensure that 4-H programs take place in a positive and safe environment. The Scranton Rescue Mission, 8 West Olive Street, offers a Community Service and meals every Fri., Sat., Sun. and Mon. at 5:25 p.m. Free haircuts first and second Sat. of the month during Bible Study. Every Sunday evening following the evening service, the mission distributes non-perishable food and clothes. Cost: Free for all non-registered Girl Scouts. Registered Girl Scouts MUST bring a friend who is not a Girl Scout as their admission fee. Camp is full of games and activities to get the girls moving, and create an environment where they will make friends.
